Fast cruising means JPK 39 FC
The JPK 39 FC is a cruising yacht, built by a racing yard. It does the synthesis between light, planing racers and displacement travel boats. The result is an ultra-fast and versatile yacht, in all conditions, ergonomic, safe, and comfortable with bright indoor spaces.
It’s many qualities were rewarded with the French “Sailboat of the Year 2022” award and the “European Performance Cruising Yacht of the Year 2022” award a few months after its launch. The other nominated yachts in this class were IC36, J/45, Pogo 44, Solaris 40.

The power of the JPK hull has been increased by a large bow section. The reversed curve of the roof modernises the look and gives more space for accommodation. Our JPK has 2 cabins and a large sail and stocking area for long distance sailing.
The saloon has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and offers plenty of natural light. From the inside, there is a good sight on the total horizon, and to the sails.

The first hybrid JPK 39 FC
This JPK has a powerfull Oceanvolt SP15 electrical motor, which gives, compared to a diesel engine, very little noise and therefore is perfect for comfortable motor sailing. The Oceanvolt engine has a unique patented regeneration propellor for hydrogeneration. Under sail the batteries are charged with the highest possible effiency. Oceanvolt and JPK are a perfect match, as the regeneration gives much more power to an agile yacht.
However, to extend the range, and for safety reasons, we have chosen a diesel generator, to fill up the batteries, whenever needed. JPK has implemented Oceanvolt several times before in their JPK 45 FC, but this is the first 39 with an electrical engine.

This JPK 39 FC has a lifting keel with a draft of 1,3 meter upwards and 2,7 meter downwards. Due to the ballast deep down, it has a very good righting moment, which gives a reliable and safe sailing experience. And due to the lifting keel we can visit shallow harbours, or upwind shelters close to shore. So this is another safety choice.
By contrast, the JPK 39FC is a beautiful boat to sail across a full range of weather conditions and coarses. With a wind abeam of 27 Kn, we have sailed full main and genua, and helming did take very little effort. And broad-reaching, with the asymmetric kite at a 140° true wind angle in 7 knots of breeze – and just 4 knots of apparent –, boat speed remained above 5 knots.
Top class mast and sails
Our JPK 39 FC is equiped with a weight saving carbon racing mast manufactured by Axxon and 3Di Endurance sails from North Sails. This top class combination draws the centre of gravity down.
The 3Di sails are sustainable non-sewed sails which are laminated on a 3D molding table to realise the perfect aero optimised shape and gain ultimate performance.
Sailing wardrobe:
Mainsail 43 m2
Furling genua jib 40 m2
Furling staysail 25 m2
Helix Gennaker G0 85 m2
Asymmetrical spinnaker G2 135 m2

Easy helming
Due to the hull design and double rudders, the helm is finger light and almost neutral upwind, but with just enough weather helm to give a positive feel. As wind speed and heel angles increase, the feel in the helm builds, but it’s never heavy on this tiller-steered boat, which has a sail plan of a 39ft yacht.
Less seasickness
From our experience the typical JPK hull design develops less roll and yaw movement compared to a classic hull design, resulting in less sea sickness and therefore more fun.
